Dumbbell Workouts You Can Do at Home

Not everyone has the time or money to go to the gym to get a workout in everyday so I will share some great exercises you can do at home with a set of dumbbells.

I recommend getting some sort of adjustable dumbbell because it makes it easier to store and use your weights rather than having tons dumbbells all over your house. Bowflex adjustable dumbbells have been the best bang for your buck that I have come across.

The most effective way to do dumbbell workouts at home is to do exercises that include multiple muscle instead isolating only one muscle at a time. Try this full body dumbbell workout to get multiple muscles at a time. Start with the dumbells on the ground and squat (bending at the knees and not the back) pick up the weights as your stand up straight. From the standing position you will curl them up and then press them straight up over your head. Then return them to the ground and that is one repetition.

That workout will target your hamstrings, glutes, quads, biceps and shoulders. Doing full body workouts is a quicker way to get a great workout and works well for muscle coordination.

A great workout to target the back of the arm (the tricep) is to lay down on the floor with a dumbbell in each hand. You will start with your arms straight and the weights above your head. From this position you will bend at the elbow and let the dumbbells go down by your ears and then straighten your arms again. This is one of the best tricep workout routines possible with dumbbells.
